Is this programme available to Canadians?

I'm sorry but you cannot use our Payboo program to escape Canadian tax or duty, customs, brokerage, or other import fees and cross-border taxes.

I'm one more satisfied B&H customer using the PayBoo card.

If you use it, they instantly deduct the tax. The catch is, if you use that card and decide to not pay if full before the statement then you'll pay somewhere around 19% interest. That's a lot more than sales tax. So, nothing to worry about if you simply pay the bill in full before the due date.

The interest is 29.99% but many store credit cards charge the same rate.

I hate to admit it, but I sometimes browse the B&H site just to see if there something I "need" for an 8% discount. : )

Any experience in the B&H Photo's PayBoo card? Is it a good idea to have/use one? What is the catch?

I use payboo all the time for its benefits concerning shipping and tax.

The only catch is huuuuge interest. But I only buy what I can immediately pay for, so I never pay any interest.

If you take 2 or 3 months to pay off a purchase you pretty much null out your initial savings. Take any longer and you’re upside down.

I stand corrected. That's pretty high but I never let them get interest. Hahahahaha

The drawback is the billing cycle is real short. Used the PayBoo card twice and got less than 14 days to pay it off. Also, be prepared to spend some time on the phone getting approved by syncrony bank. They are pretty thorough so they must have been burned a few times.

If you do get the card, sign up to manage the card online. That way you can monitor your balance, due dates and make payments all on line.

I applied for the payboo card from synchrony bank and received a notice that the "record" shows I was deceased!
Only goes to show you that there are goofballs working for private business just as there are for the government.

Synchrony Bank seems to deny people a Payboo account for faulty or unreasonable reasons. They said they were unable to identify me. If B&H's bank refuses to do business with me, I'm not going to do business with B&H.
