My mother wasn’t bald... so I guess I won’t be.

I've heard hereditary baldness skips a generation. Both of my grandfathers were bald so I never stood a chance. 🤣 Bald at 26, but at the time, I blamed it on riding a motorcycle with no helmet and it all blew out.😁

50 years ago I did the first year of my aprenticeship at an 'off the job' training centre. By the time that year was finished one kid was totally bald.
One of my sons is going the same way but at least he's got into his 30's. It's not in the genes, me, his grandfather and my grandfather all have / had full heads of hair.

What about your wife's father and grandfathers since I believe that the 'baldness' gene comes through the female side of the family?

I've heard that baldness comes from the mother's father's side. My son was balding at 30. I have a full head of hair. My father was balding all through his life. My wife's father also is bald. I feel so bad for my son, but he seems to be fine with it, and deals with it well. I offered him some help, as I got some tips from friends who are bald or balding and shave their own heads, so I could help my son if he ever needed it. But he has never asked, and doesn't seem to be troubled by it. (I hope that helps some out there.)

I think young men today tend to shave their heads as soon as any receding hair line appears. Much better than the ludicrous comb overs we used to see. Also more hygienic than the long hair back in the 60s. What I have left I now cut short with a trimmer. Saves trips to the hairdresser and looks much neater.
