Paul, 6F, that's pretty cold to be walking around at 6:30am. However, your pictures speak volumes. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Elliott, Earnest, tommyII, EdR, Hal, Jim, Moondoggie, Steve! Really, after you've spent a day or two in the temps around 0F, you have your layers selected and you're overall used to it. People where out in shorts and T's yesterday when the sun and temps hit the mid 40s.

Civil War hero and two-term President of the United States Ulysses S. Grant (1822–1885) is memorialized with this equestrian bronze sculpture. When the sculpture was dedicated in 1891, more than 200,000 people attended the ceremonies.

This article is probably behind a paywall if you don't already subscribe to the NY Times. The read is long, but deeply interesting, on the history of Chicago and our current issues with the lake. Best are the numerous pictures you'll likely note as many of the same places I visit with a camera.

The time sequence of Lake Michigan at North Avenue for 2013 - 2017 -2020 are the location of many of the images in this post, from ground-level rather than satellite.
