A couple of years ago my son and I floated the Madison. I didn't believe that my arm would ever get tired fly casting. We caught a bunch of fish and had the best guide. He told us that now we could tell everyone that we floated the Madison. I did learn there is a difference between drift fishing and wade fishing. Takes a while because we are slow learners. Really need to do it again. My son has all the tying materials now and I am just trying to wear out what I have left. Tried muskies on a fly-- no luck. Just remember---The time spent fishing is not subtracted from your life span.

Jack,

Your skill is admirable. Your terrestrials look fantastic. I’m very much a novice at tying, but I recall one of my first black ants, a relatively easy pattern. Nevertheless, it probably took me more than a hour to tie and when I was finally out on the stream and got to use it, I managed to snag it in a low-hanging branch on the first cast. I confess I may have uttered a four letter word or two...

Good luck out there.

Bob

I'm taking a second look. I think you are keeping something important alive in this age of mass-produced garbage I've never gone fly fishing, but I can see how relaxing it would be and how tying your own flies is soothing - and a vanishing art to boot Good luck to you in the coming year

Great set, and setup. I'm too old to walk a stream anymore but I have my memories.

Mine have turned out pretty good. Going to try an Adam's today. I see "Flood City PA." I take it you are in Johnstown. I was born in Altoona but grew up in Lancaster and Reading.
