I just had my left eye fixed two days ago; my right eye was done a few weeks ago. Both eyes are in sync and "I can see clearly now, the fog is gone." 🙂
I'm on Medicare so I got the single focus lenses, both eyes for near vision; different focus lenses were not for me. Everything is clear from closeup reading to the ends of my long arms.
Overall, my vision is about 20/30, so I can watch TV and drive during daylight. Next week, I'll get glasses for distance vision. Best advice I can give is to talk with your eye doctor to decide what will work best for you.

Your situation is exactly like mine, I got my left eye done on 2/2 and my right eye done on 2/16 this month, I can clearly see close-up and reading, my vision is 20/25, I have been resume driving already. I will/may need glasses for driving, I will see how it's working out on next check up next month.

I've been a little off most of my life... but that's what makes me so incredible... and modest.

Has anyone had cataract repair before? How did it effect your making photographs? Would the tri-focal be better than the distance focused lens?

Before surgery, my eyesight was really bad! I can't speak to tri focal. When Mine was done, my wife insisted on the special, really expen$ive lenses, and I am happy she did! I'm not sure I remember what they were supposed to do. All went well. The first thing I noticed was that the yellow cast to my vision was gone! It was like switching color balance from SHADE to DAYLIGHT! 20-20 or better, both eyes. I need readers for close up and reading camera menus. I would do it again!
