any suggestions that work? I bought 'freehands', thinking the thumb/index finger flipdown would be nice, but the magnet gets so cold, they are actually worse than bare, so now use a winter glove left hand, bare hand as long as possible on the right shooting hand.

Tricks discovered?

Thanks

I have been using a golf glove on the right. It helps

Ck out hunting gloves or hunting mittens. Any sporting goods online service should have them without the magnets.
Of course a couple chemical hand warmers also helps.
Good luck.

In one response, I included a photo of a product similar to the gloves I purchased.

I bought a pair of wind-proof gloves at LL Bean. They work nicely for the buttons on the camera that I use.
Loved them when we were in Iceland in December!

The vallerett gloves. B&H sells them. They have a liner gloves with material that works on touch screens if yuou need that. Get the mitten that goes over tpo. There is also The Heat Company.

I believe the gloves they sell have a pocket for the hand warmers. Probably cheaper options from places like Cabelas & such.

When the temperatures go down I wear a pair of liner "thermal" gloves inside mittens. The themal golves are thin enough to allow me to operate camera controls (such as: https://www.sierra.com/thermal-lite-gloves-for-men-and-women~p~25gnt/?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=OrganicShopping&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping&utm_term=Thermal_Lite_Gloves_For_Men_and_Women&currency=USD&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvP6ABhCjARIsAH37rbR12zdd6v7_9SViAUvP4FKtajCo2m4zqrfbYWb7XjUSYDPjGff9o00aAoiOEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&codes-processed=true). When I shoot I take my hand(s) out of the mittens, then put them back in when done shooting. If it gets really cold I include Hot Hands handwarmers in the mittens. I have cold hands but this works well for me.

Zippo refillable handwarmer - not the rechargeable battery type. Twelve hours of glorious heat in your pocket. Lasts decades..

I use these in my gloves, when I am ready to take a shot, I take my gloves off, take the shot, and put my hands back into my warm gloves. They work great.

I use wool glove liners, with insulated mittens over them that flip down on thumb and fingers, for when I want to trip the shutter. Pull the ends and thumbs back up when not shooting. I have a problem with my hands getting cold also.

I use a pair of gloves by Under Armour a snug fit and put hand warmer packs into it to keep my hand and fingers toasty warm and working. I shoot a lot of ice hockey games and by the seconds game I couldn't feel the buttons anymore, I needed something. I tried all types of gloves and they all stink.....
