A Hawk, but...maybe an immature Red Tail

Out walking the dogs, this hawk flushed from a near side tree to one across the canyon, 110 or 120 yards out. Seemed to be holding, so I took the dogs back and got the D7200 with 200-500 5.6 plus 1.4 extender. Cold out, so I didn't want the camera out too long, and when I tried to close in the hawk changed trees. I was quick enough to catch him in flight a couple of times, unfortunately the autofocus was not. If you have a firm idea of what he is, love to hear.

Thanks - MT State Wildlife photos and other sources aren't quite as white breasted and puffy. Red Tail, though.

Magnificent images, QD and Larry is spot on, this is a mature Red-tail hawk. Red-tail hawks come is at least five varieties and color schemes and are the most prevalent north American hawk and, very common in your area. Thanks for sharing!!
