A few more from our recent visit. I captured a bunch of shots of these guys chasing after that poor fish- a Mud Dauber I think. Not a particularly nice day cold 39 F lite freezing breeze.

D500, 500pF 1/2000, f 8, ISO 4500. EC- 1.3. Polarizer, Handheld.

Thanx for the ID and for viewing. Got a number of really nice shots of the fish covering the gull’s face. It is a common shore species. Tolerates brackish water...

Thanx! They tease each other all the time as long as the food is plentiful. It seems to be here. Clams and oysters and salmon (in season) and other fish. Seals come up from time to time. Eagles hunt here most days. Ducks are plentiful Year round. The Herring gulls here are comfortable around people staying about 100 yards away with individuals coming much closer.
