Excellent series, John...the bird on the fencepost in #6 is probably a Willet...a shore bird that likes to breed in sagebrush areas.

I am going to say the bird on the post is an Upland Sandpiper. That is a classic pose for the Upland and the bill is not long enough, or heavy enough, to be a Willet.

yes, definitely a willet or sandpiper. There were many shallow ponds dispersed throughout the area. He made a nice contrast to the dry grass and blue sky

Really nice each and everyone, but I like the last one the best. It just shows the love between the mother and her calf. Thanks for sharing you images.
