Times are tough...
New Orleans is a tourist and service industry city hit hard by social distancing, restricted travel, low capacity restaurants and torqued down energy... folks these days aren't buying or wearing the casual tiara and I haven't seen a "second-line" umbrella since my return three months ago... I suppose, now's a good time to bolster one's bead and bangle collection but... general enthusiasm is lacking...
I'm interested to know how Mardi Gras will be affected by all of this. I haven't heard too much here in Pensacola about large scale events/parades.
I've moved out of the City and into the 'burbs, John, and don't keep up with such things, but understand Mardi Gras, according to NOLA's Mayor, "Latoya the Destroya" has been either cancelled or post-poned until June... maybe July... dunno... along with French Quarter Fest... Some independents have "coincidently" gathered for various displays and romps but, no organized parades or such gatherings are planned. In short... NOLA is pert-near dead with no miracle in sight.

Gay parades then after 15 days, grey parades, if that thing pushes through.
Sometimes i wish the covid virus would kill faster and more often.
That should bring about a better reaction especially to the stupid, selfish & arrogant lots.
Scientifically, a faster killing virus is self limiting. Covid for some evil reason has the perfect balance of hanging around and messing everything.
That's true, Wallen, no intelligent virus wants to kill its host, an insidious disposition ensures ample time to grow and spread... a characteristic displayed by more organisms than viruses...
