Well, it's certainly an upgrade from the train coaches I rode in between Westfield, NJ and Manhattan every day for a few years! Nice shot.

Dear Lenny....Very interesting and unique post, both in the subject matter and three-dimensional exercise in composition.

This one river cruise company I looked at once for fun offers cruise and train combo trips (i.e. Switzerland to Italy). I didn't look at the current prices, but I think the trips began at around 6 or 7k and soared from there - in the five figures for a 2-week trip depending on accommodations. The train (looked it up) has regular sleeping cabins, a dining room with white tablecloths and fancy waiters with gloves and the lounge cabin has live music (like a harpist or a pianist).

Sounds like a lovely, if pricey, time. Where's Lester Lanin when we need him? Or maybe, that's where he went...............?

Great shot! I grew up riding trains (The East Coast Champion) to Florida. I learned that with the appropriate tip, there was no problem buying a beer in the club car at 15
