Is it better to Remove Distracting Background for Simplicity or Leave Background for Viewer Orientation?

When evaluating the two images enclosed, do you think removing the background to make the picture simpler to convey the message without distractions OR does leaving the blurred limbs in the background to orient viewers a better choice?

I think it is better without. The feeder grounds the photo.

Dear NMGal...Thank you so much for your short, sweet, to the point conclusion. (I too think the feeder grounds the photo, but I have been known to be a minimalist in the past.)

Unless there is something wrong with your eyesight, you can easily ignore the background and focus on what's important; the message and the bird. I've learned to ignore a lot of things in my lifetime here.
