Yeah it was. 25 to 30 knot winds blowing spray in my direction. Temps in the 20's and dropping. Multiple layers under my LL Bean parka.

Very nice shot. Seems odd, though, to get a sunset shot over the water in Maine. Must be due to the layout of the peninsula?

Schoodic is N - NE of where the sun was trending downward which is closer to the mid-coastal area around Lincolnville - Camden - Rockland at this time of the year. So my view is toward the South/South West. At the summer solstice, the sun would be rising more directly East to my left and setting close to right over Acadia and Cadillac Mtn in the right side of the image. If you enlarge the image you will see the coast way down there in the distance.
This is a mid-June shot of the sun rising up behind Schoodic. I am on top of Cadillac Mtn across the bay.

The general coastline of Maine only measures 228 miles, but the tide coastline (which includes all of the inlets and bays in the state) measures 3,478 miles. So we have many spectacular coastal sunrise and sunset opportunities!
