Back together, this time for good

After a trial separation of nearly three and a half years which did NOT suit my mother, she decided to rejoin my dad; her life just felt too empty without him. She did so two days before his birthday, the best gift he could ask for. Goodbye, Mom. I hope things are easier for you now. Please give Dad my love. And don't let Ted knock you down with his tail!

Thank you. I know that as my visits to my mother became more difficult I often turned them into stories that I shared on UHH as backdrops to whatever photos I managed to grab. It helped me deal with our changing relationship. I don't feel great about becoming frustrated with my mom as she became meaner and more negative, and I was sometimes short with her. But for the four days that she had hospice care at home (angels, all of them), I was at her bedside reassuring her, so that helped make things right.

I am doing okay. It's good to be home after 15 days away, and back at work. Yes, I love this photo. I believe it was taken shortly before they were married, so they still really liked each other. You can tell by their serene expressions that we kids weren't on the scene yet! Thank you. Oh, no I am not finding rest yet--I brought home Mom's 16-year-old cat and she's a pain in the butt, bless her heart. Leaf and Oliver are aghast, and the household is in an uproar.
