Behind the Scene at Santa Anita. These Men work so Hard to Help the Horses. It was a pleasure to see what goes on and how much everybody Loves the Horses and how they all take such good care of these Beautiful Animals... I Love being around the Track and close to the Horses.
Best in Download!!!
FYI: About 40 horses have died at the Santa Anita track since December 2018. Officials briefly halted racing at the track last year in light of the number of deaths. Santa Anita has since made changes in an effort to increase safety for the horses, including restricting steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs and race-day medications. Source: CNN
Not a major fan of horse racing Saildog83... Sorry but my significant other is an animal rights activist... I'm with her in regard to horse racing.
As for your reportage? Stellar pivotal moment... compelling pose dynamic... superb lens perspective... having the optic's position actually below this subject imparts a magnificently powerful and noble aura to this visual statement. truly epic composition.
That said have you considered an increase of contrast? This image is somewhat lacking in tonal range... The lion's share of data is confined to the mid-tones... See the tonal distribution graph below...
Thank you for sharing your photographic artistry Saildog83...
Please stay safe... always wear a mask in public and practice social distancing...
All the best on your journey...

This comment of yours just revealed another bit of yourself that I truly like. I share your sense of human obligation for the safety, welfare, and survival of animals. My hat's off to you on that.
Similarly, your reminders to practice good public health are what we all need to do in these times.

Thank you for the positive reinforcement NY... It is reassuring to know that others on UHH are concerned about the ethical treatment of animals... and grasp the urgency of our current struggle with the pandemic...
BTY I've always admired the inspirational wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Again many thanks... Please stay safe... All the best on your wonderful journey NY...
