Pre- Covid I went to the Armory in Springfield and saw the repeating pattern of these 1812 muskets on display.
Nice composition but I don't think they had percussion muskets in 1812. Did you type 1812 instead 1862?

The percussion musket was invented in 1805.

Good eye! Nice photo. I have built four rifles like those. A .36cal, a .45cal, a .50cal and a .54cal. The .54cal is a THUMPER!! The steel on them is case hardened so they look a little different. I like the look of the polished steel.

Great image!!!
The first time I have seen muskets "in the white". This is the way they were issued! most ended up "Browned" probabley from being rusted , cleaned and oiled many times.

They were as clean as new because essentially they were.
