When I was in Junior High School, my father taught me how to use a camera. That camera was a Leica IIIf with a Summitar 50mm f/2 lens. The camera is once again in my possession; but the aperture ring was hopelessly stuck in place and the camera itself has issue that are beyond my pay grade to repair. So the Leica sat on a shelf for years.
Then I realized that I could mount really old lenses to a mirrorless camera with an adapter and it should work fine. With some help from a member of this forum, I managed to gather the courage to take the front part of the lens apart and fix the stuck aperture adjustment ring. In the past few days, I've really enjoyed getting reacquainted with my old friend. Let me know what you think.

Nice lens. The sharpest image seems to be #2, but of course impossible to read the ƒ no. in the EXIF. Great captures and renderings. Please stay safe and keep on sharing.
Seems you and your old friend became reacquainted very nicely. Looks like you will be able to add the lens to your lens arsenal.
Wonderful result to your courageous attempt, Erich!
Wow. It was SO worth the effort. Very nice.

Two Three and four were shot at f/8. The photo with the leaves was f/2 Thanks for taking a look.

That is the plan. It is a collapsible lens. Even with an adapter, it is tiny. Should be easy to spin it onto the Fuji and have a camera with me all the time.

I was apprehensive; but the lens was pretty unusable without the fix, and that made the decision to operate more palatable. Thanks for taking a look.

Thank you. The repair was actually simple. You just have to build up the nerve to actually take your lens apart.
