Like wise. My Mark II had a 4 Speed, it had a very low center of gravity and 4 wheel Disc brakes. It actually handled like a sports car and was a favorite getaway car for bank robbers in Great Britain. It also was a four door so the thieves were able to hop in and take off.

I had a MKII also - 3.4L 4 speed. I’d post a picture, but don’t want to pirate the thread.

The E-type in pic #1 is a bit troubling to me. I had a 1967 Series 1 coupe and it had the glass covered headlights which I always assumed were only on the Series 1 and ended in 1967.

So, given that and the fact that this car is a 2+2 with a back seat and the higher roofline (didn't care for those, thought they looked like a duck in profile) my original thought was that this could be no earlier than 1968.

However, I have since learned that a very few Series1 jags had open headlights and the 2+2 may have been produced as early as 1966.

Combine that with the fact that this car appears to have winged spinner knock off hubs, which US law banned in 1968 and I am totally confused as to the year of this car.

Also...the mouth doesn't look correct for a pre 1968 Series 1. I now think it may be at least a 1968 and the owner replaced the hexagonal knock-offs with the winged spinner type.

That's my opinion and I'm stickin' with it. Boy, I really miss mine. I bought it for $2800 in 1975 and it would probably cost as much as $100 grand to get a fully restored copy.

#1 looks like the 1961 XKE the first production model.

The only Jag i ever owned was a 1960 MKII 2.4 liter and it was a pleasure to drive, but constantly leaked oils and the positive ground Lucas electrics always caused problems.

#1 is a late model - 1969-70. The XKSS is undoubtedly a replica. You can find one on Hemmings based on a ‘65 XKE for a mere $500K.

Very nice photos! In #2 the exhaust is almost bigger than the car.
