There are real signs like this in Europe. They are not stained glass, but regular highway signs. They are not for amusement at all. These highway signs and are put there to caution drivers to watch out for the elderly. The elderly in Scotland are not offended. They are grateful for the government cautioning people to slow down when going past the old folks home.

I'll be 93 on the 27th of this month, and I'm not offended at all - though I don't yet stoop over, and I still ride my motorcycle - fast around the curves. Unfortunately, we're getting to a place where it seems as though it matters not what one may say, somebody will claim to be offended and demand some sort of redress! -- and thoughts are next - and in process!!!

Nice sign. By the looks of it, stained glass and all, it probably is posted on private property. Regardless I see no offense in it no more than a sign showing playing children. The takeaway for me is there are elderly around so be careful. I think some are just looking for something to be offended by.

I seem to be a little past the others who have responded at 88. The sign does not bother me at all but I would like a sign that shows a bewildered senior at a computer.

Some years back George Jones had a song "Don't Need Your Rocking Chair" that is the song I live by. I 75.

I think we have all become too sensitive about stereotyping. That sign is designed to be humorous not literal. I guess I am not sensitive or WOKE enough to live in today's society.

I had absolutely no thought that a sign put up by a senior couple in a senior community could cause offence. I will not apologize for the posting however, or ask Admin to delete it. If it offends you, don't look. I am 77 years old and it doesn't offend me. I will, however, ask the four couples that I know who walk together with cane or walker, or both if they are offended. I will be seriously surprised if they do. Over all, we down here, manage to keep a perspective on life that if not politically correct is at least correct to our standards and beliefs.

No not yet Val. The Ghost Dog demands a walk of at least a mile a day and so far I am able to keep up. He is more demanding than a Physical Therapist I had to work with in my younger days.

I know what you mean, I still take Blue for a good walk despite the crutch, we do have a big playing field in the village so end up there for a game of ball. Someone wrote a booklet with circular walks starting from different points in the village which are various distances which is good plus some you can turn off to make them a bit shorter..

The first, and only time, I threw a ball for the Ghost Dog he slowly walk over to it and sniffed it, walked around it once. He laid down next to it and looked at me as if to say "OK dad I'll guard it until you come for it."
