Travel stimulating to me, too. Doing way less since the pandemic. Going from JPEG to RAW file format a big step but worth it. I do most of my photo-editing in Adobe Camera Raw. Thankfully, last week, I got my first of two vaccine shots. After the second shot kicks in, I may do more travel. My lady friend wants to visit NYC. Meanwhile, like many others, I am mining my collection of older photographs for processing.

Really like your question. I am an avid bird watcher and am trying to turn the corner form advanced beginner to an intermediate photograpaher:
Yes, Covid prevented me from all overnight trips. No spring migration photos from the Delmarva or Lake Erie, no overseas trips, no long weekend photo trips. Nevertheless my shooting has increased:
1. Joined this forum and paid some attention to the comments.
2. Changed from jpg to RAW format
3. Purchased and am learning to use a Tamron 150-600 GII lens. Experimented with it at Conowingo dam yesterday, and am also trying to figure out best way to use it for small perching birds. Had success hand holding it shooting a Ruby-crowned Kinglet at Patuxent Research Refuge
4. On a daily basis I send a photo to members of my senior citizens community often taken that day on a daily walk.
5. Have taken more photos of my family and grandchildren resulting in three photobooks where normally would have only produced 1.
6. Have been exchanging ideas with others and experimenting more with the capabilities of my camera, lenses, and software.
Despite all this activity, cannot wait to be able to travel again.
