I just acquired a Lunt 102 ed doublet and wanted to play with it tonight to see how sharp it is.
I am pretty impressed with the results.
I shot this with the 102 mounted on my Celestron CGEM mount and used my Canon 7D Mark II with a light pollution filter on the afocal snout.
specifics are as follow.
ISO 800
Scope is f:/7
Focal length is 714mm
exposure time was 25 seconds.
I did minor processing in Canon Photo pro to adjust the color balance from the filter.
Uncropped
I think I am going to like this scope..
Jim

I think I like your scope also. I'm looking into a good astro spot in NM. Got ant suggestions?

The stretch of Highway 285 between Vaughn and Roswell was where I first saw the milky way - it was so bright and full that it seemed cloudlike. There are many places in the Jemez mountains, west of Los Alamos that also would provide minimal light pollution.

Very nice shot, I really like the color you got in a single 25 second image.

Well now the derned clouds are going to find you Jim.

Beautiful Image!
Just wait until you really get the hang of it!

I've got your clouds on the way. Better pack in and take cover.
We are being over run with clouds.

Thank you.
One of the dark zones that I really like is near Abiquiu lake in Northern NM. Ghost ranch in particular is very nice and has some photogenic areas.
Another is the the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness. It is a 45,000-acre wilderness area located in San Juan County in the U.S. state of New Mexico.
Stay safe..

Not if I keep the scope covered and only let it out at night so the clouds can't see it..
lol...
Thanks Sonny..
