That is a beautiful photograph of the old USMC UH-34. I have ridden in many of those aircraft during my time with the USMC. My squadron, HMM-265, used the CH-46 and the UH-34 was being phased out for the CH-46. Now of course the 46 has been phased out as well. Both were great aircraft.

When were you or your husband in Vietnam if I might ask; what squadron? Thank you both for your service.

Dennis

Beautiful shot; great composition. Only improvement is a natural for Photoshop. Addition of movement to Rotors via softened duplication/rotation of blades and adding them to photograph to show how a metal object remains airborne.
UHH had a really good discussion on photographing vintage aircraft last year that even suggested shutter speeds to show prop movement while keeping the aircraft clear, BUT using a higher shutter speed and "perfecting" the photograph later is equally effective. I would certainly use your high shutter speed since you were also airborne. Boris

Thank you so much for your comments and for the welcome home. Much appreciated. Thank you to your whole family for their service. That includes you as a wife who pretty much keeps the family going. My father was in the Navy in WW2, his brother was in the AAC and another brother, my uncle, was in the 101st Airborne just after the Korean War. My older brother was Army while my twin brother, me, my twin's son and my twin's grandson are USMC. Another nephew was Army as well. We are spread out quite a bit.
