Those H-34's were, and are, amazing aircraft...kinda like the C-47 (DC-3) my dad flew over the Hump (and are still flying missions around the world). And you got it nicely, bravo. I took many photos when flying around Vietnam during my tour...mostly pretty bad, but some came out cool. I learned pretty quickly to get as much shutter as I could...to a fault. Were I to go back in time I'd be panning like crazy and trying to get the blades to fuzz just a little...lol. But, really, with the silhouette and the sun disc, this one is as close to perfect as it gets. And I have to cop to some envy that you got to be in a working Huey!

Denoise is a post processing tool for getting rid of graininess and ISO noise. It has the effect of smoothing an image and it can be used specifically for that purpose. I get the impression that your sky would look better without any noise and the clouds could benefit from a touch of smoothing.

Welcome Home...Yes, the 34 is an amazing aircraft...however, I prefer Hueys we have 3 that we restored back to flight status...The org. I belong to...American Huey 369...the 34 came from N.Y and met us at Grissom and our 2 Hueys and the 34 flew to WI were we met a friend with a restored Loach and the 4 aircraft flew to LZ Lambeau...it was a sight to behold!

This is a great shot as-is. If you shot raw, you could put it into an editor and reduce the shadows on the chopper to bring out just a bit more detail. Well done. Please stay safe and keep no sharing.

Fabulous pic but might be nice to have slower shutter so the rotors are blurred a bit by their motion. A minor point because it is a great pic as is.

I too love this shot. The only suggestion I would make is maybe back off on shutter speed a bit so there is some blur in the rotor blades. Just a suggestion to think about.

Very nice bird, thanx for sharing...We attended VHPA when it was held in Louisville and we brought our aircraft...Our Org. has a membership...plus most of our pilots are members as well...my hubby is a crew chief, not a pilot...

Thank you for your comment...so glad you like the photo...this was taken 2010 and I was brand new to DSLR plus I was shooting from an open door of a Huey going about 80 knots and at the time I had no idea how to blur the rotors...LOL I was just trying not to fall out and still get the shot!!!
