False Crocus Geometer

This is my False Crocus Geometer moth which is a quite lovely little yellow moth with brown accents. Sadly, it is nearing the end of its use as a specimen for they are very fragile and then to fall apart over time. I pin them into a bed of styrofoam in a cardboard shoe box where I place mothballs to keep microscopic size scavenger insects from turning them to dust.

Hopefully you'll find another specimen, Sippy. This is absolutely beautiful and one of my favorites of all your stunning work!

Sippy, this one almost looks like a large male mountain sheep with his horns and all. Gorgeous yellow colors.

Thanks, Donna. Some specimens are more photogenic than others and this moth is at the top of that list. I find most of my moths on the fly strips that help control insects that frequent the door that we let the dogs in and out of. They are attracted to the light that we turn on when exercising the dogs on their evening "business".

Thanks, Greg. I agree that it surely does.
