Marry your interrest in this photography pursuit with your budget and proceed to make images. Some outstanding collections have been produced with just one or two primes lenses; Cartier-Bresson is said to have essentailly produced all of his work with a Leica 50mm prime. Then again, he wasn't a birder. Get what you need to enjoy the experience and make the images you want to produce. Enjoy the present you've been gifted.

I dunno, a dozen or more; most bought when I switched to digital from a 35mm one lens (an 85mm) setup. Most of 'em live in a drawer, my walkaround is a 35mm and if I have my larger camera bag with me I carry a 50, a 70-200 f4 and a 70-300. My small bag? the 70-300. Harry PS When I'm on horseback, probably an 18 to something telephoto (300, 400 etc.) so no changing lens. (I dropped one from HB while changing lens; never made that mistake again.)
Really silly post the same question could be asked about any hobby. Fishing, guns, bowling balls, archery, on and on. Possible troll post?

I find it a bit sad that the OP doesn't want to expand his horizons by exploring the galaxy of lenses. Instead of spending 1200. on a new 90D, he could have spent 125. on a 50 1.8 and ended up with his best lens in terms of IQ. Then he could explore what can be done with big apertures vs the f/4 maximum of his zooms. I figure cameras are made to be used up since they depreciate to a fraction of their new price anyway. But my best lenses will likely be in my estate.
Nothing sad about somebody wanting different things from their hobby than you want from yours. What's sad is when folks think everyone should think the way that they do.

How many bowling balls do you own?

GAS is NOT a sickness! It is a virtue!
Fortunately, I've never been bitten by that bug. I have lenses from fisheye to 300mm, plus a 1.4 extender. I'm satisfied.

If we asked that every time no one would be able to post!

Why is it that photographers are obsessed with obtaining so many lenses? I only have 3 lenses that serve me well. I have owned them now for about 8-10 years during which I have bought 4 new bodies. My lenses are the Canon 10-22mm efs, the 24-105mm L EF, and the 100-300mm EF. During the time i have owned these lenses I have owned the Canon XT, the 60d, 70d and now the 90d bodies. But I have never had a desire to buy new lenses. Why would I? My 24-105 is my general purpose lens. I use it for 75% or more of my shots. The 10-22 is for when I have to go wide and the 100-300 is for sports, wildlife and general telephoto needs. I cannot imagine needing anything else other than maybe a 50mm prime with a large aperture. I don’t have a camera bag big enough for anymore lenses.
How many lenses do you own?
Why is it that photographers are obsessed with obt... (

Tamron 100-650
Nikon 70-200
Nikon 200-500
Nikon 500PF (you can spot the trend here in the long lens!)
Three Nikon lenses that are kit lenses and not the best but I still have them, although I have two away.
Nikon 24-120 (main walk around)
Nikon Z 24-70
Nikon Z 85
Nikon 105
Probably missed something...if someone gets serious about the quest for wildlife the desire for long lenses grows if the skill of the photographer grows. There are poor lenses, somewhat poor lenses, mediocre lenses, good lenses, and really great lenses and as my skill grew so did my desire to have better glass. Sometimes people don't have the money at first to get the better lenses and as their pocketbook and skill gets better they buy better lenses. I still want additional lenses, mostly the faster ones. Not sure yet about growing the Z lenses, not entirely sold on the Z7 right now, although it is a great landscape/still-life camera.

Most posts here would not cause that question but in this case it does lol
I've bought an ancient 200/4 Olympus prime for 37 Euro, can't wait to try it out. I have about forty other lenses for Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus & Minolta and about 15 cameras, half dozen of them digital - love my Bronica SQA and Mamiyas. I worked over fifty years as a photographer, the Covid put an end to it for now. I don't want to sell anything, financially I don't have to, and I love trying more lenses like that old Olympus 200/4 prime. There are some great zooms like the Canon L range but otherwise I use primes and often manual focusing ones that I grew up with. And though I have most of the good SLR film cameras, I like to adapt the old lenses to my Canon 1Ds Mk3 in particular and go out and shoot with them around this lovely little medieval city that I live in - Kilkenny in Ireland.
Hopefully things will start up again in the summer, meanwhile I intend to shoot some urban landscapes of our city's medieval buildings for a Kindle book.
Good choice of a few lens. But I think they are all zooms.
Zooms are great I have some but some and I believe that most primes are better.
I just switched from Sony to Fuji mirrorless. It seems to me the Fuji lens and
a bunch of 3rd party lens have come from china are really good glass.
For specific uses, street, b&w, landscapes etc etc their primes are excellent.
I own a lot of gear but find these days do not use a lot of the gear.
You are in good shape. Maybe you want a portrait lens or prime that
has great bokeh that would be specific uses. Your choices were excellent.
PS-I own the Sony RX10 III bridge camera 24-600 zeiss lens. At times
I think get rid of all my stuff and just use this bridge camera. The lens is
amazing for a bridge camera. Good luck.

Whether you have one lens or ten surely the question should be do you get enjoyment out of using them
