Here we go!

I just got a Bugs 4W after a week of searching/googling. I'm interested in learning the physics of flying the things and the guy I bought it from (a pro 107 person who's got a few drones) said this one would work nicely for that angle. Impetus was that I just got and finished a real estate shoot, the client asked whether I had a drone as some of his properties would look good with a flyover view...well, I'm all over that! Haha, I have some flying experience as I flew LOH (loach) scout helo's in Vietnam and, of course, took all the training, instruments and such, to go along with being a well-rounded pilot. Now I'm just well rounded, heh. I'm going after the 107 asap, but will be doing alot of test flying in the meantime. I had some fun with the seller and found it's pretty straight-up, I have a cyclic on my right and a weird collective-kinda thing on the left! The yaw thing is a bit different, control-wise...my initial goals are modest, just wanting to be able to do flyovers legally...

As I understand the rules you are not able to use your real estate videos or stills even if you gave them to the client without first having your part 107... You might do some youtube searches one gentleman that covers that subject is ken herron among others...

Good luck in your venture!

Thanks for your reply, although nowhere in my post did I say I *wasn't* going to have my part 107 before earning a fee. My "stills" at this point are strictly on ground level, IOW I've done a few RE jobs as a photographer with camera in hand. I fully intend to follow the drone guidelines! ;0)

No problem... I find too many flying in class B airspace here without even knowing the requirements... Watching some videos on youtube a number of people have been getting letters from the FAA... Don't want a fellow Hogger to get in any trouble... Good luck with your endeavors
