Some nice action shots there. The last one with the girl contemplating her vault is my favorite. It might look static, but there's action in the shot for sure.

Good job Jules. Love the emotion on the faces, some straining and some concentration.

Hi Frank:
Thanks for chiming in. Appreciate you taking the time to look and comment at my work. Be safe.
Jules the composition on the first and last renderings is breathtaking...
They truly capture the very essence of this event...
While the focus on the first is just a tad soft on his face... motion blur? tracking lag? front focus?
However the acuity on the last image is absolutely epic!
I could see the stellar last rendering in Sports Illustrated... or even National Geographic for that matter...
Both span the divide between sports photography and reportage... B&W is so totally germane and effective here.
You are an inspiration and gift to this forum...
Please keep showcasing your superb artistry...
Thank you again for sharing Jules...
While I love first, last, and #3, agree with Thomas that the last is awesome. Captures the heart of the event without seeing anything but just a bit of pole (which sets the entire event) and the concentration in her face and eyes.
Was surprised that even without seeing the legs of most of the athletes, I did not miss them at all. Still learning from you.....

I want to say a big thank you to jaymatt, Frant, Thomas, Palo, David, Tom and Raymond for always saying nice things about my work. I take photography very serious. I started out as a kid working with my dad. He used a Speed Graphic, and a Rolliflex. He was a photo journalist. I worked at his friend's Nathans darkroom after school. Nathan was a wonderful teacher as I remember it.
So for 62 years I have been taking photos and yes still learning from you guys and gals out there in the club. I can't remember when and how I learned of this club but I am sure glad I joined. I have learned so much.
Because I had to support my family I let photography go by the wayside for many years. I am a retired contractor, had employees, worked hard. Now I have the time to devote to my craft.
Thanks again for always looking, commenting. It means a lot.
Be safe and we all will start shooting again.
