Woulda thunk you could see a Jellyfish this far inland?

IC443, The Jellyfish Nebula

So over at the Losmandy Users Group, Brian invited everybody to show their best images from 2020. One fellow posted a link to his IC443 Jellyfish Nebula.
Me, jonesin for a target, thought I'd take a look with Stellarium. Then I swung the rig onto it.
Here's the jpg, and the tif. Enjoy!

Imaged at 300 second subs (5 minute) X 30 images X for 9000 seconds of compiled data. I did tweak the levels in camera to make it pop out of the murk.
I used my Optolong eXtreme dual band filter, and ignored the misty clouds trying to be a bother.
Not cropped. jpg touched up in Adobe Elements 12. tif is as taken.

About as good as it gets. Really sharp for 9000 seconds. Wish I could do that!

You're raising the bar SonnyE. I will have to see if I can find this next time out. Do you think the Optolong Lenhance filter would work? I don't have the eXtreme. What focal length?

Hi Alberio! I just do a search in Stellarium and it finds these for me. Then I use it to slew my mount to the Nebula.
I have no idea about the L enhance. From what I've read, the enhance has a broader pass of bandwidths.
Where the eXtreme is tighter.
This guy has some good points about them.
One thing to note is both of these filters are for Color cameras. Yet I've read where they can be used for Mono cameras. No experience there for me.
But I say, "Run what Ya Brung!" Try it.

Thanks SonyBug!
I'm really enjoying my new mount, and the ability to image through the Meridian.
That's how I can glue myself on an object for as long as I can stay awake. (Which is a separate problem. LOL! )

Thanks Ballard!

I'm still longing for Mono. I have to wonder what I'm missing.

I hope to try some LRGB HA, S2 and O3 shots of a few deep sky objects this coming year and see what I get different than the DLSR images I've done so far. (I've got some parts on order they should help with this endeavor).

I'm sorry, I forgot, my focal length is 481mm according to something I used to check it. (Sharp Cap?)
But it's advertised as a 480mm.

I don't use anything else. No Flattener or focal reducers. Just the filter.
I have an Orion 0.5x FR, but never use it.
I'd have to dismount my camera to add it. (If I could add it)

HTH

How so did you "mess up"?
