Lately, I've noticed that when I want to look at a password in LastPass, when I click on the Eye icon so I can see the password, all I get is a line of *********. I happens when I try to see the LastPass PW, too.
Right now, I can't see my word for USPS, which was listed as "Business." Deleting the "business" category didn't help. I have a separate list of my passwords, so I'm not stuck. What's going on?
Is there a master password to access the info?

Apparently not. I have to sign in with the master password to use LP at all. Looking at the setting, I don't see anything I can change. Those asterisks also appear when I want to look at the master password. I'll see if Google has an answer.

I just checked my LP - works as it should. Sounds like you might have a glitch. Give customer support a shout and see what they recommend.

Maybe restart the software and/or the computer first?

Good point - I restart my system daily so forget to mention that

I've had a few apps hiccup. Sometimes restarting the app fixes it, sometimes restarting the computer fixes it.
(Sometimes simply reloading a web page fixes a hiccup there too.)

Hmmm.....
And this is one of the solutions suggested for people who don't want to have a list ???
I use 1Password instead...in the password field in each record you can clock a drop down and select reveal password...there’s also a preference option to show passwords rather than the *****. There are likely similar options in LastPass although I’ve not used it other than a brief test years ago before I decided on 1Password which IMO is a better package.

Thanks, but I've done that several times.
One funny thing I learned - LastPass had to switch from three asterisks to three dots. Someone had a copyright on three asterisks.

I'm lost....
A list ???
A list of passwords written down. I have hundreds and they take about 6 pages.I would like to not have to use a list BUT every time I read about password companies going bust or people having problems like this thread is about I become even happier about having a list ???

Oh yes, we have over 150, in a book and a PW protected spreadsheet.
Odd, need a PW to see the PWs....
I don't use a PW company.
One of my browsers keeps them and they are also PW protected by the browser.
Key ones I do not let it remember. IE. banking, email, etc..
Is this in your browser on the desktop, or on your phone?
I don't know what to tell you Jerry. I just went into the Lastpass vault (using Firefox in Win10). I see a row of dots (not asterisks) in the password field, but when I click on the eye, it displays the password as it should. Either try a different browser, or contact customer support. I have found Lastpass customer support to be very responsive (note, however, that I am a premium customer).
