Although we have sunshine today, it's quite crisp outside so with little to do and all day to do it I pulled up a shot from the summer's walkabout.

This is a pair of Dogbane Beetles that are doing what beetles do......eating leaves.

Image taken with the Nikon D810 and the Nikon 200mm f/4 AF-ED macro lens and Mieke dual flash on-lens macro flash.

Nice! I don't see many of these around here for some reason. Very good picture of a challenging metallic subject.
Now, it is easy to bring down the sensor noise in the background, while preserving details on the beetles.

Thanks, Mark. I filtered out the sensor noise while leaving the beetles alone and put a vignette at the edges to help pull the eye toward the beetles.

Thanks, Kpmac. Hope all is going well for you and all of yours down there. A bit cold and grey here with some damp to go along with it.

That is a nicely done post. Was de-noise done with a blurring brush on this one? That is how I would approach it.

Thanks, Mark. That's essentially what I did and I agree with you that it was needed to improve the eye-appeal of the image.

Thanks, Brenda. It's good to hear from you again. I hope that all is well with you and yours. I am ever so thankful for your advice and encouragement when I first started this venture three years ago.
