I'm sure we all can look back and remember when we were kids and life was much easier . During this horrible times in our lives now . I wanted to do something that might take our minds off the present , if only for a short time . Stay safe everyone .....
Two children young, playful, sharing nicely captured.

How could they possibly have been happy? They didn't have smartphones or even Xboxes.
Nicely done! Stay safe and have a Happy New Year.
Excellent storytelling photo, but what story does it tell?
Linda says, "Super sweet!" and Tony says "Stunning." A psychologist would say that the girl is grabbing what belongs to the boy!!
R.G. questioned: "How could they possibly have been happy? They didn't have smartphones or even Xboxes."
Old Chinese saying, "less is more." No longer applies since China is an Ultra-Capitalistic country, and they are the people who put smartphones and Xboxes together to sell to the world.
Me, I say excellent storytelling photo, "many things to many people."
To me, the photo shows two children happily sharing. The photographer nicely caught this magic moment. I'm sure it has become a precious family photograph.

In telling stories, it is not the what the 'story does it tell?', but what the listener-observer takes away from it. The number of interpretations is boundless.
PS., The world around us is always in flux.

The bit of daylight on the right edge is distracting. I feel that a little vignetting would strengthen the focus onto that ice-cream bar.
Great shot.
We have here an example of effective composition along with a captivating subject together arresting our interest to the exclusion of little flaws. We pay attention instead to the internal dynamic of the photograph. Flaws do nag, of course. We should mitigate them.

I'm sure I never stayed inside the lines when using crayons at a young age. I did much better when I was using oils to color photographs in the '60s. Your coloring of B&W's brings back those memories so thanks for posting your work. This one especially because of the subject's youth and the story it is telling.
