Happy New Year everyone! Its an arbitrary point in the arrow of time, but somehow it still feels significant.

I read a quip online that we won't have trouble remembering to write '2021' instead of the previous year. I think I'll g.d. underline 2021 for a while.

So what are your goals in macrophotography?

Very good. We have very different approaches, of course. It depends on what you want to stack.

To set aside my "G.A.S." problem and improve on my photo stacking with the equipment that I already have.

My goal in macro/micro photography is to continue to ride the dragon, regardless of how much fire it belches and claws and bites at me, until I find ways to improve my lighting techniques. Of course there will always be some things that are simply out of my reach. Darn that brass ring..!

"Ride the dragon" 😅 That is a very relatable way to put it.

I have lots of goals. One is to try out photography of aquatic insects by shooting thru glass. I have made a mini-aquarium out of thin glass, and would like to put together a second one.
Another is to explore further this thing called wide angle macrophotography. That' s really got my creative juices going. Maybe build a wide angle macro with a fish-eye CCTV lens. All the cool kids are doing it...

A third is to wait out this @$#% pandemic, and once things settle I would like to buy an Olympus M 4/3 camera and try out its special features (those being super-duper fast in-body focus bracketing, and its remarkable "Pro Capture" mode, which makes it easier to nail high speed action.
