Is this a scam?

I am asking if anyone has any experience with something like this on UHH?
I have a camera up for sale. Of course, I am not looking for someone to decide for me.
I use to see this a lot when I sold some things on Craig’s List years ago. I guess I am a naive seller because I don’t usually sell online besides once in a while on eBay.
What I might do is let them pay me through PayPal and once paid meet the “someone” some place in town.

We are interested in your camera bundle. We actually have an employee who is in Yuma visiting family until January 2nd that could pick it up. Please let us know if it is still available.

I'd respond to that with, "if it's in person, cash only". Then meet in a very public place and definitely not at your house. Meeting at your bank is probably the best place.

Your suggestion is quite good, too. But they may counter with lack of access to paypal, the duration of the visit isn't going to be that long, etc.

I agree with Bob, cash money is always good. Just be clear on the arrangements.

I amended my reply with meeting at your bank.

I prefer a 45mm as that allows focus on the subject without being right up close.

OK if you still have it but cash on collection and no returns, make sure you keep a list of all serial numbers, once you have informed them you will find they are no longer interest but if they are then probably genuine

Actually, even our small Sheriff's Dept. has a place outside under active surveillance for transactions like this - might be worth checking with yours.

curmudgeon says, you can never be too careful ... i agree with the suggestions about doing the transaction in a LEO parking lot ... just takes a minute

OK - perhaps i'm a bit paranoid, but it only takes one crazy to ruin your day

might want to bring a friend with a 45mm lens.. just to keep everything on the up - and - up

one old guy's opinion ... free and doubtless well worth the price.

Absolutely. I always carry my Colt .380 to large cash transactions.

I had a great 45mm lens but sold it. To heavy for these 72 year old hands. The 9mm is just right.
