There are a number of twists to our holidays this year. Our son can't come home (he lives in a group home) so we ... loaded up. Once unloaded, he told us we could leave! This year I made a special breakfast casserole he loves for his staff and roommates for Christmas morning. I have never done that before. Hope to FaceTime tomorrow - which will also be a "twist".

Packed up his gifts and drove the "sleigh" to deliver them

We moved to a retirement community and our apartment is small so we put our christmas tree on the patio and can see it through the glass door to the patio. We have a hummingbird that has taken residence on our deck and so we put some finger ring hummingbird feeders on the tree branches hoping the hummingbird would come for a drink. Well, here he is, our live tree ornament! RJW

How wonderful! Quite a surprise and uplifting photo!!Great idea=thanks for sharing!!

This was a real twist - Our Christmas Eve service as a "drive-in" in the church parking lot. Covid guidelines meant more people could attend in cars - just like a drive in theater. Simultaneously broadcast over FM on car radios. Very windy and anticipating a storm overnight with 50-60 MPH winds - still a great turnout and a bright spot in the pandemic. Some traditions must go on for mental health and normalcy. It's one Christmas Eve I'll never forget.

One twist for me - I actually made cookies. With so many of our usual activities cancelled, I decided "why not". Well, the gingerbread people had a high number of disabilities - lost limbs, lost heads, deformed feet.... Frosting surgery helped restore some. Others were destined for a trip down the gullet regardless. Had better luck w the sugar cookies. Not the greatest photos, but this surely was a twist for me!

Nice set Pat. Daughter had the same problem. Maybe not the cook??

Fantastic addition to your tree deco, RJW.
I had no doubt you could nurse those spicy bread bodies back to tasty treats, Pat!

Without our normal family gathering, Dee’s bout with the virus, and all other abnormal cancelations this year we have had a tough time getting motivated to do much of anything. But Pat’s gingerbread, ......

Nice set Larry. Looks good.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a nice one.

Oh yeah, while I was cleaning up Dee put the last piece in a 1000 piece puzzle so she ... we could remove the 12” x 36” creation from the dining room table.
