Why would anyone sell such an advanced and up-to-date model unless there was something wrong with it? And if the person needed money for some reason, why wouldn't they sell the lenses as well? Please forgive my overly suspicious mind, I'm sure it is all totally legit.... after all you're on UHH, right?

I have been debating on getting this camera. Did you like the camera? I have been going back and forth between the iii and iv. What is your take on this camera? I know you mentioned too many megapixels. What do you feel are the drawbacks of this camera?

The camera is great but challenging compared to the A9. With the extra pixels your handholding has to be perfect

It's selling new for $2900. Used on many forums for 2600 or less.

Curious...are you saying you photograph many birds in flight and it gets tiresome for you? What do you mean by that?

I have the A9 and the A7R IV. The uncompressed raw file for the IV (61 MP) is something like 120MB in size. Even the compressed version is over 60 MB. It means from ingest to editing to output, it takes a lot more time to process such big files. Moving the exposure lever could mean a few seconds before the screen preview could be updated. Some users also had to upgrade their computers to get more RAM or computing power.

I love the image quality of the camera, but I also have 32GB of RAM in my PC. And still my workflow is hampered because of the sheer size of the files.

How many cores is the processor. That is what's doing most of the work. A 8-10 core processor might help. Just saying for anyone buying a new computer. I read an article on the puget systems website. I have 64 gb of ram, & sometimes I have to wait . Looked at my resource panel & the ram wasn't no where close to being maxed out. The cpu was maxed out.

Looks like I may need to make sure my computer can handle it. I have a MacBook Pro Retina...and already it struggles and is limited in space. I download all my raw files from my A7Rii to an external as it is.

If it's struggling with A7R II files, it definitely will have major delays working with R IV files.

One advantage of shooting BIF's with the R IV is with 61MP, you can crop severely and still get a decent picture.

Not doubting what your saying . But I work on 300-600 mb and 1GB images all day with a Flashed Apple pro 1,1 with 32 GB of ram running EL Capitan on a 1 terabyte SSD a dated computer at best... And exposure changes are instantaneous as fast as I move the exposure slider.... seems to be your computer needs upgrading , I would keep the camera and upgrade the computer...P.S. computer has only 2 dual core xeons ...

Just curious, what camera are you using that produces 1GB images?

I am a photographer and printer of large landscapes 4 feet wide and upwards with gallery wraps . A typical 48 inch X 24 inch image @300DPI 16 bit tiff is around 300mb or more opened and is sent to the printer . I can reopen these in ACR and still make changes as easy as as a small JPEG . The files are then stored on 2 4 terabyte seagate drives mirrored ...and remain on a history file on the printer's hard drive ..P>S> I also print for an artists 500MB files from a 4 x 5 betterlight scanning back and I process these file in Photoshop CS6..for printing on canvases ...
