And to think, Adams didn't have the latest megapixel gadgets - he just made awesome prints both ion camera and in his darkroom..

That’s amazing. I guess I was expecting them to all be large prints but several in the 6x9ish size. Wow!

I remember in the '70's I could have ordered some of those from Ansel for $125.00, but didn't have the money.

Wow,
I knew they had a high value, but one in particular really surprised me. Since I have 4 of them, I think they will stay hanging right where they are and after I'm gone by my kids won't forget what I told them about their values.
It might be time to get them insured.

Ansel was definitely the man! WOW. Hope wherever he is that he hears that. What a master of B & W and the dark room. I know some have said he was a magician in the darkroom. I have always enjoyed looking at all his works. Thanks for the post.

OMG! What size prints are these must be huge. I know people how attended Ansel's workshops and he sold machine printed actual 8x10" for $50. His hand printed ones were much more and perhaps limited in number. But I know he printed the same image in various sizes. At that auctions prices I could likely buy every Ansel Ansel Adams portfolio book for one actual print. I do have several AA portfolio books. Plus both series of his instructional books.

Yes, 6x6cm and 4x5" up to at least 8x10". Not sure if he used 11x14" like Weston and Cunningham. Ansel like using an enlarger so huge negatives would be prohibitive for other than contact printing. I have shoot a few 8x10"s myself. Awesome detail in say the cactus I shot.

Same here. I had to struggle to even buy one of his portfolio books when I was young. I luckily have found many of those used for much less. Should have invested in actual prints.

Wow. Great collection to see all in one place. I wish I had seen this before bidding stopped. My wife has been asking for hints for what I want for Christmas.
