I took this about 2wks ago and was wondering if it is abstract or not? Also, what do you think about it?

Abstract is such an abstract concept...if you think it's an abstract, then it is. This is a great candidate for a b&w conversion.

Thanks both of you for your answers and comments. I'll see what I can come up with for b/w on this and post it!

very abstract, since you can not imediaetly tell what it is. i love the colors, the lines the partial s curve to it. I am curious about the b/w but suspect the color to be superior because the blue of the sky and the white of the thingamajig ( scientific term for unknown object, see also thingamabob, or watchamacollic.) compliment each other

i like both, each has a totaly different feel to it. the color shot has an energetic hamptons by thee shore vibe. the black and white picks up the shadows on the thingamajig, has a more solitary lonely feel to it. both are terrific and i could not choose between them.

Oh, I agree, they are both terrific on their own. The b&w has more mystery about it (just where does it lead) while the original has more substance. Great image~

I'm going to give you an abstract concept. It reminds me of a piano in the sky. The color shot works fine for me.

Yes, I would say it is abstract. It has the curved lines and the photo is not of the thingamajig as much as it is about the wonderful flow and shapes. I really like this both in black and white and in color. They give two totally different feelings yet both hold my interest because of the unique form. Very nicely done!
