I think every one on this site should take the time to at least view this photo. It is the type of shot any Artist would be proud of.

It's a little overcooked IMO but nice composition. The Tetons are spectacular!!

Not me!
Too over-saturated (over something) for my taste.
(I wouldn't print it let alone hang it.)

I have to agree -- way overdone for my taste. But each to his own.

Okay now, I am sorry I like a photo that looks like a painting; I have seen them that looked like paint by number. I also take it that it was at some setting possible to get this effect, that there is a setting that can produce this shot, most would not use it. I will dare to say pin-hole effects are unknown by most shooters.

In other words... Every famous shooter got there name by going beyond the norm, and trying new things. What if the next time it turns out great!

I am my own harshest critic. When I first learned HDR photography, I thought this was a good shot. I have since adjusted my opinion (which is all this is!) But having gone through some training (nothing compared to most of my camera club experts (not joking...some are exceptional), but some training and study) the photo has a few issues. It is way over-saturated. It may please the artist but would not score well in any sort of judging. The mountain tops are just beyond the frame of the image. The tips of the Tetons should be in there. There is at least one animal that is cut in half by cropping. The edge of the building is cut off as well. Either make it close up of an animal with the background of the barn or back up the photo to get more animals and the entire majesty of the scene in there. Anyhoo, I am learning all the time...usually by some hard knocks on evaluations of my pics. Sometimes what I think is high-art is panned as dogs playing poker! But I try...all in fun.

I also thought it was overly processed until the photographer said how long ago it was taken and with what equipment (10 years ago, superzoom, JPEG). Now I think it’s simply a fantastic photo.

Every famous shooter had the sense to wait to see what "going beyond the norm" produced while trying new things. The famous shooters wouldn't have published this result or they would never have become famous. But they went back to the drawing board and eventually produced something worth publishing. This photo is not that!

Interesting that the photo got good comments in the Photo Gallery, and most on this forum call it overcooked. I find that the general public tends to like shots like this more than many photographers do.
