Great shots. There must be a lot of bobcat activity this year!

Thank you, Carol. We've been watching and hoping all summer, this was the first sighting. Have there been others? We are thinking this was a female with kittens. While we were getting these photos the brush behind her was thrashing around but she(?) didn't seem to be bothered about it. Or maybe she just likes gators!?

Congratulations on these great photos Chief! You sure nailed the focus inspite of all the vegetation.
GOOD JOB. I have only seen one in Florida but it was almost dark with no camera.

Thanks. But the posted ones were just the better ones. That's not to say they were all perfect.

He really blends into the surroundings very stealthy cat.

Yes, he sure does, Samantha. And he eventually vanished in a flash, not to be seen again.

Excellent! Getting opportunities like this sends your adrenaline pumping, doesnโ€™t it? I catch the occasional coyote (in MA) and I get excited. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Clark. Yeah, it sure does, that's why I love it so much! And why I spend so much time out there in the bush!

Very nice captures. Lucky you saw him, but no doubt about him seeing you. He is looking right at you.

Thank you, Hereford! Yeah, it's always the motion for me. I learned a long time ago to lock onto motion and stay locked on until something resolves out of the background noise. I posted the first photo to show how well he blended in to his surroundings. And spending a lot of time out there in the bush helps to get more opportunities.

These are great. I'm amazed you spotted him at all, and I'm jealous. The focus is fantastic, especially considering he was half-concealed by grass. Nice job.

Thanks very much SWFeral. You don't have to be jealous. Come on out and my wife and I will show you around
Yeah, the auto focus system on the Nikon D850 is amazing! Accurate and FAST! It has a separate chip dedicated to auto focus. Very important for wildlife photography and silly stuff like sports
I'm not saying I don't miss birds in flight any more, but I'm getting a lot more keepers!

Super! I recently read where one had been spotted in Palm Bay, Fl.

Thanks, I haven't heard that. I'm glad I got this one so I didn't have to go all the way over there.
