Since a 'reflection' was brought up, I am definitely thinking that that is the most likely cause - especially since it was only on a set of connected images (BUT it could be the 'Enterprise' trying to 'beam up some fall foliage'). LOL

Seriously though, what was the length of time between the first and the last shots where the 'ring' showed?

Does the relative position of the 'ring' with respect to the table seem to change? (either vertically or horizontally?)

This one is really messing with what's left of my brain.

Thanks Ron. I really like your processing of the photo. I would be greatly appreciated if you would share your PP work.

I don't quit see a 'foot or support' so I'm not sure what your thoughts were.
Steve

I did not do anything fancy or sophisticated, just ACR (PS CC).

I did adjust the fringing created by the wide angle.

The table put off some sort of reflection. Easily fixable in post.

Or, it is your grand daughter's halo slightly misplaced for the moment. I suspect the later.

You are lucky.

Do you wear a watch on your right hand?

Not sure what your insinuating, but you can look at the time stamp in LR and see how long it took to take 16 images. In this case my stopwatch said 16 frames 11 sec and 38 frames 1min 16 sec which includes the time taken to re-adjust exposure.

Check your camera’s watermark settings.

Given all that is here I’m going with a projection from an Alien spacecraft in another dimension.

(If you think that is bad try The Great Courses: Dark Matter, Dark Energy. I just finished it.)

Best of luck figuring it out. 🤪🤪🤪

I just figured this out. Your question simply went over my head. Great guess but No, I don't wear a watch.

My wife and granddaughter were raking and playing in the leaves. Grabed the camera and started shooting. After downloading I notice a semi-transparent ring lower right. Any ideas where this might have come from? At first I thought it might be a double exposure or something on the lens. However, It's on 16 consecutive frames of the 91 I took with-in an hours time. The ring seems to be stationary and in the same line as the green table in back. I took 7 shots before and about 70 more after.

Lots of clouds & and bright. Nikon D750 with 70-300mm 4.5/5.6 VR lens @ 170mm. 1/1250 sec, f/5, iso 2500. Shots are straight out of camera with no post processing. I was sitting under a gazebo with no screens.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your help

Could Possibly be an Alien listening devise to find out why humans like to play in the Leaves so often!! But honestly, I have NO IDEA what that is, it looks to be some kind of reflextion, because it does not look to be a Solid ring, like Wood or Metal, it is kind of transparent if I am observing it correctly.

When your daughter moved to HER right, seems like the oval in question stayed in the same location from the Background Table, So, I might think it is something in or on the Lens itself, seeing that it has a "See-Thru" appearance and not anything solid sitting in the grass.
