About 4 weeks a go my wife noticed a lump on the side of Abby’s mussel. This required an immediate visit to the vet. Since both are pups had an appointment in a week for their annual teeth cleaning and would be under anesthesia, she would take care
of the lump then.

Stitches from lump removal. Vet looked at under microscope and said it looked suspicious. The vet sent for testing and week later confirmed it was a benign growth.

Abby scratched the stitches open so we got a collar to prevent that. Abby hated it and looked at us with sad eyes. She did figure out that if she laid on her back she could wiggle out it. My wife came up with a better idea.

My wife went to Walmart and picked up a pack on new born socks. Secured with some non adhesive surgical tape, that did the trick. Abby could scratch with no problems. The stitches are out now and she back the lovable self.

Dave, Abby is very lucky to have you and your wive as parents. You take good care of her.

not sure where the lump was.........muscle or muzzle................whatever.I hope she recovers well.

When I started the story, I didn't know about the end. I am so glad it ended happily. She is such a cutie. Great idea with the socks !!! I will remember that!
