Along a backcountry road in West Virginia

Spent a weekend in rural West Virginia, away from cell phones, news, and life's distractions. Decided to take a ride on the Cass Scenic Moutain Railroad up to Bald Knob. It was supposed to be a 4 hour trip with the opportunity to photograph beautiful fall colors but the weather did not cooperate. It was cold, wet, and foggy. Most of the color was gone and the visibility on Bald Knob was about fifty feet. After the train ride, we drove the backcountry roads to the agritourism farm at which we were staying. Saw this house and decided to take a picture, (actually, many pictures). We had been listening to i-heart radio, 13 days of Halloween so the house and little shed fit right in with the spooky atmosphere. Yes, The little shed really did lean that much. Upon getting home I decided to do a little doodling around with the picture. It was only then I noticed the figure in the window. I didn't see it when I photographed it. Who knows? a present or a former occupant? You may have to download the image to look into the upstairs window.

I love everything about this image. Our son lives in WV, and I love to take some of the back roads just to see what I can see when we visit him. Especially interesting are the old farms and out buildings.

Now that I can see the download, there seems to be something wrong with the proportions of the head... also the head is rendered in B&W. Interesting that the window is reflecting the fallen, rusting eavestrough, though. Either fake or someone left a large B&W image behind the window, but a very interesting photo anyway. Well done, good eye and appropriate rendering. In any event it is a totally appropriate shot for the season. Please stay well and keep on sharing your great work.

I like the moody atmosphere. As to the log/beam wall construction shed - quick, guess which way the prevailing winds come from?
And I may be wrong but I have a suspicion that dim figure is an addition, way to big to be in scale with the house. But the ground floor is used to store bails of hay, those show well through the lower window.
The ghost added is a nice touch for the season - I would also have changed a lot of tones/colors toward oranges etc for the season and added a few large black birds in flight and maybe even a buzzard perched somewhere.
Landscapes under storm/rain clouds are a nice change from all the bright sunny scenes. Esp when the clouds are as good as these. You must have lucked out to have the clouds in the distance with good light up closer.
