I haven't cut my hair since December, but it hardly matters. When I go out, I wear a hat. I've been cutting my own hair for as long as I can remember, with professional tune-ups about once a year.
I was back in the barbershop as soon as mine re-opened.
Do I want a barber breathing down my neck two feet away (during the pandemic) after he's done the same to 12 other customers that day? I THINK NOT. Gave myself a "butch" and enjoy the freedom from bed-hair and freedom to roll down the car windows and not having to comb my hair everytime ti put on a T-shirt. New life-time change!
Don't forget the two hair stylists in Springfield MO, both infected with Covid-19, who saw 139 clients before they realized that their symptoms were Covid. Both wore masks, all 139 clients wore masks, and no one became infected.

I've given up on the bowl. I kept dropping and breaking them. I just extend the hair and cut off the long parts.

I am 71 with diabetes, so I am careful about Covid-19. I go to a grocery store during senior hours and everyone wears a mask, I get takeout food and go for walks in the park. When they reopened hair salons I needed a cut very badly, and I was comfortable with the virus guidelines - masks for customers and hair cutters, big plastic sheets between stations, customers waiting for appointments outside. And hair cutters are already trained and licensed in hygiene. For extra safety I got the first appointment of the day.

I order my groceries online. When I get to the store, someone comes out and loads it into the trunk. Great system, and I pay just $3 - $5 for that service. No take-out food for me.

Jerry, have you tried the gadget that hooks to your vacuum cleaner and pulls your hair up and cuts it? We have an engineer at work who has used it for years, his hair actually look pretty good, and he calculated that he has saved $2,800 so far.

Yup, sounds about right. Just keep snipping away at the longish parts.
Do my own - #4 all over - once a month. Cutter cost £20. Could do it with my eyes shut.

When I was young, my parents cut my hair. When I left home, I went to a barber, who cut my hair the way he wanted to - not the way I told him to, so ever since that one time, I cut my own hair. A bit of arthritis began to restrict my arm movement about the time I moved to the Philippines (4 1/2 years ago), so I've been going to the barbershop ever since, having found a barber who will do the job the way I want. As a bit of a benefit, the price here can be even less than what I pay, which is P200 (about $4).

My wife gives me a buzz cut with the pro clipper I bought years ago.

Another reason I'm glad my parents turned out a son, rather than a daughter. Men either comb their hair or they wear a hat. Women have to decide on a "hairdo" and then pay someone to make it happen.
