Ava's Papa, I miss my Miata. I bought a blue one the first year that Mazda came out with them. Superb handling and the quickest and smoothest manual shifter I have ever owned.

I bought a new Protege in '91 and really wanted a Miata, but I didn't fit. I got the Protege with what was essentially the 1.8 liter version of the Miata engine (DOHC, 4 valves/cylinder, 7,000 RPM redline) and a 5 speed manual. Great car that was fun to drive and my wife and I both fit (she is 6' tall with very long legs). We donated the Protege wit a little over 250,000 almost trouble-free miles, including its only clutch replacement at 200,000 miles. When we needed another car in 2006, same thing, the NC Miata wasn't big enough, so we bought a Mazda 3 with the 2.3 liter and a 5 speed manual. It's still going strong at 176,000 almost trouble-free miles and still has the original clutch and brake pads. I took an NC Miata for a 45 minute drive while my 3 was getting serviced and was on the verge of a cramp in my right leg. I loved driving it and the shifter was wonderful, as was the one in the RX-8 that I considered buying when we bought the 3. We've driven the 3 as long as 14 hours in a day and many 10 hour plus days and were comfortable at the end of the day. Plus it has a decent trunk and a back seat for road trips. We've been as far away from the Bay Area as Mt. Rushmore in it. I'd still like a Miata, but leg shortening surgery is not an option. BTW, the license plate frame on the 3 says MX-5 +2 on top and Zoom Zoom on the bottom. The one on my Protege said 4 Door Miata.

That's a true "Super" Beetle. I've owned a half dozen in my lifetime. That TR 6 on steroids is a mean looking machine ! I like all of these cars I especially like the Plymouth hot rod.

I waited a long time to get my Miata and I've never had so much fun in a car (staying fully clothed). I joined a local Miata car club and they rented Lime Rock (where Paul Newman used to race) for an afternoon. I learned a lot in a few hours. It's quite fast, shifts smoothly and corners like a go cart. It brings a smile to my face every time I take it out.

The TR-6 is a friend of mine. It hosts a 450hp small block Chevy. It's a real screamer. I have more photos of it that I will post when I have a chance

Two of my co-worker' cars. I don't know which year for the Mini and pretty sure the Cadillac is a '45. This is how they parked in the lot that day.

My boss owns several minis in different flavors: the Cooper S, van, truck. He and his wife drive modern Minis.

The Cadillac owner is also a hot rodder and drives several of his other cars to work also. It's an interesting parking lot for a small group of people.

The Cadillac is a 1948 or 1949. Looked up pics of 1945 thru 1950 Cadillacs online & from side view the 48 & 49 have the same shape & side home trim & match the car in your picture.

Very nice, but 238 miles a year? 10,000 miles is 2 or 3 good road trips.

I'm the original owner of a '67 Barracuda Formula S that has been sitting in my garage for about 35 years awaiting restoration. However, it has 169,000 miles on it, with something like 6,000 or so at above 100 MPH back when there were no speed limits in Nevada. I was safety minded BTW, as it has an SCCA legal roll bar, 4 point racing harnesses for both front seats and a fire extinguisher reachable from the driver's seat without releasing the harness. Much of the time at above 100 was on sports car rallyes wearing racing helmets. We did a 3,500 mile road trip in it in 9 days for our honeymoon in 1971. Here are a couple of photos from that trip, the first one at Molas Pass (10,910') and it's on the left in the second photo. BTW, I'm not short, my wife is 6' tall. The next two photos are of it new, before I got the license plates. The final photo is of what it replaced, my first car: a 1960 Morris 850 Mini.

Those original Mini's were impossible to catch on back roads. They truly handled like go carts. I believe that their headlights were too low to the ground which is why they stopped importing them. And that gorgeous Cadillac is a '48. If you look at these photos you can see that all of the side chrome was the same. The only way to tell them apart is by the parking lights. The 49's wrap around. According to my reference book here Cadillac was making tanks from '43 to '45.
