Not much to critique from my point of view. Nice colors and nicely composed stands up well in DL. Who could ask for more.

The colours are really nice in the download - better than in the thumbnail. I like the spaciousness of that "big empty" and the fact that the fisherman is in silhouette with little to no detail. I've seen guys go out alone into the huge sea in their tiny boats to spend the day fishing. Their courage is wonderful.

It conveys a sense of being alone in a wide open empty space. The nearly blown parts of the sky look like they might benefit from a bit of work like cloning.

Not an enjoyable photo for me. It is empty of interest. Nothing there to see.

You don’t see the lone fisherman?

In the spirit of providing useful feedback I think somebody should mention the horizon - not that it's a major flaw but it's easily fixed and it's not something we should become blind to.

Yes, I see him, but overall the photo seems empty to me.

How else are you going to photograph emptiness? One of the objectives of Fitz424 was to convey that sense of wide empty space. It's part of the storytelling.

Is this a photo about the fisherman or the sunset? I find that one competes with and distracts from the other. The competition between the two themes is heightened by the brightness on the left and the darkness on the left. Perhaps lightening the shadows and darkening the highlights might help? A tough photo to shoot given this contrast.
