Hi All!

My kids gave me a Canon T6 camera for my birthday and I’m figuring out how to use it. I’m primarily interested in B&W (huge fan of Ansel Adams!). Looking forward to learning from the seasoned photographers here!

Kelly, Welcome aboard. Have fun. I too love the work of Ansel Adams. Had the opportunity to do workshop in Yosemite in 1972 with him. I am a big fan of his work and B&W.
Ask questions and post images. A great way to learn.

Welcome aboard! Although you can set the camera to BW, you'll likely find in digital photography that you'll get better results editing / converting to BW later on your computer in a digital editor. Have fun.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading on it and have found that’s how most photographers do it - post production manipulation. That’s my plan..... take a bunch of photos then work with them in an editing program.

Thanks so much!! I’ll definitely take a look at the course! I live on the Westside but I’m hoping to get Downtown in the next couple of weeks - I’m finding that cityscapes fascinate me!

DPP is a good place to start, and free. Especially if your camera is set to raw. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/cameras/eos-dslr-and-mirrorless-cameras/dslr/eos-rebel-t6-ef-s-18-55mm-is-ii-kit?tab=drivers_downloads
