Hi, I'm HGB and I have taken many photos in my life. I started with a used PENTACON SLR which I purchased from the owners of Madison Camera in NYC about 60 years ago. It was in another lifetime. There was no meter involved-- everything was manual, yet it was fun. Anyway, that's how I got into photography.
I then bought a few great 35mm cameras as I got older and they are now buried in the closet. My wife and I did our own B&W developing and the as digital slowly encroached we dropped the hobby.
So my iPhone 6s Plus is my go to camera. It's always available-- yet it obviously has its limitations.
I also purchased a NIKON Coolpix L610 point and shoot camera about 2 -3 years ago and this is the extend of my current camera ownership.
I must say I miss the old film cameras where it was up to the camera operator dictate the results and not the computer. I liked the smell of the just opened film as it was inserted into the camera. Well that's all over now...
I noticed my pills in a little cup and it looked interesting, so I yanked out my trusty iPhone.
Welcome! Stay well and keep them coming!

You still can do it with any camera that has a manual option (M) on the dial. Also if you miss those manual cameras layouts, the Fuji cameras, and the Nikon Df (which was made for people just like us) would be a great choice to have back that feeling, except the smell of fresh film.
