Wonder what story this one could tell; perhaps a tale of Harley Warrick when he applied its last coat of paint? This one looks like it was done at least twice from the number of the "signatures" barely visible on the lower right corner of the building.

Spotted this on the road (WV 250?) chasing covered bridges near Hundred, WV. Just had to turn around and take some shots. Glad I did, as the barn and the advertising are no longer standing.

(Didn't store the original as taken with P&S back in July of 2006 and image quality not the best when viewed larger.)

Thanks for the challenge and enjoy.

Another good subject for a challenge, Judy, and should draw a good participation. Thanks for hosting again.

It's readily evident that there is no one geographic area that has a hold on dilapidated structures. At least that's my take from our travels.

Interesting buildings from another spot in the USA! Thanks for sharing, Larry!

Those are keepers, Mo! They resemble some I saw in Alaska during the Gold Mining days 1800's!

I didn't notice that the Peace Corps was pulled out. I hope your granddaughter was there long enough to get a really good experience of the place.

Not really any where enough time-about 3 months! She had just moved in with a sponsoring family when they blew the whistle...I was personally happy about the recall but she was very unhappy!

Found in Rush Ar.

These are in fairly good condition for being that old--at least they appear to be! Wonder if they were slave housing or camping buildings or maybe migrant workers housing...?

It looks like I am not the only one that just can't help ourselves when we come across these structures. The stories they could tell would be good to hear, and I am really amazed at how long some have stood and served for so many years.

The Spanish Missions around San Antonio or an old poultry barn along the highway headed to Houston.

What a great challenge! Sadly, I don't think I will have time to dig out the few I may have, but I will certainly enjoy seeing everyone's work. I LOVE your 3...especially your son's antique shop!!! I would love to see some interiors of that place!

I have a lot of the inside-as we worked on that place for several years! What a job! It was fun to see it come back to life! Sorely needed CPR. Too bad..after about 4 or 5 years Jon got a great job with Apple and
had to move to Ca. We have fond memories of the challenges that house presented!!

My neighbors are 5th generation Quaker Orchardists; they established their first small store in 1829. At the back edge of their property is this old, abandoned barn. Every time I'd drive by, I was tempted to take a picture and finally did.

Oh, that's just great, joel! I enjoyed your shot and the history!!
