That is a very nice image. Great sky.

Critique: I don't think the vantage point really captures the drama of the height of the cliffs (of Moher) if that was your intent.
As for processing, I would try to bring up the highlights on the flat rocks in the mid-ground and the boggy swath near the horizon to give it more balance.

I really like the sky, and the openness of the surrounds. It's quite spacious. I'm not sure this image gains anything in B&W simply because a great percentage of the image is the same tone. And I agree that somehow the perspective of the shot loses the concept of height. Perhaps that was your intent?

I agree that changing your vantage point could give more of a 3-dimensional sense, but that doesn't mean hanging over the edge !! I'm speaking as an Arizonan that hears each year of people falling into the Grand Canyon while taking selfies.

Stay safe.

Hi,Fitz,
Your perspective emphasizes the distant view over the ocean from above the cliffs... but reveals nothing of the majesty of the Cliffs of Moher themselves. Clearly a choice of perspective that was yours to make!
But hereโ€™s the problem: itโ€™s not with your image, but with the title. The Cliffs are not imaged.

One thing that I noticed was some specs in the sky, probably from something on the lens. I found several on the left side and some on the right as well. The first one I saw is directly above (in the sky) the major cliff edge. There are a few to the right of that and above it as well as on the far left side.

Too true. The small headland beside the Visitors' Center is really the only good vantage point to be able to see the full height of the Cliffs - and that area is usually crammed with tourists and photographers. The winds are too ferocious to go to near the edge in other spots.

How did you see those specks? I had a look and even enlarged the photo on screen using the plus sign and I couldn't see them.

Please educate me as it is for those same reasons that I don't enter DPI's in competitions. I can just imagine the Judge having the photos on screen as they are sent to the Judge weeks before the competition and he or she can peer into every detail that was done and being marked down as I am not the most brilliant at processing photos, but with a print you do have more of a chance to see what it looks like before submitting it for the competition and withdraw it if it is not what you had expected.
