Hello, new to the post. Excited to be here. I'm a very new photographer--not sure I can call myself a photographer yet ;) but am working on it. Appreciate honest feedback on any and everything that I post--that's how we get better. I don't have my own "style" yet, but a friend is challenging me to see what others do not. That was somewhat the inspiration for the pic I am posting. In case the subject is not obvious, it is a (wilting) sunflower. The petals have begun to die off; the pic was interesting but changed to b&w, even more-so. (At least that's what I thought. (?) Got up before dawn on a cloudy day to get this one.

Welcome to the forum.

You have camera? You take pictures?
You are photographer.

You can decide on an adjective to put in front of photographer later.

I finally decided on my style - eclectic.

Happy shooting!

From the very first time you press that shutter release, you're a photographer. Then it just becomes a question of your degree of success and skill in being a photographer and even then it will depend on who is answering the question about your success and skill. I find that I'm usually my harshest critic.

In any case, welcome aboard! May your journey as a photographer be a long and happy one!

joehel2 is correct, "...very creative perspective." That is a good portion of being a good photographer. I like the photo you posted and appreciate your explanation of it. Keep pressing the shutter button and posting what you think is good. And a welcome to the Hog.
